Under the careful eye of Life Stories Editor Alizeh Kohari, Aeon is commissioning short memoirs (up to 1,800 words) that explore a personal turning point. This could be an inner transformation or a life-altering external event. It might be profound, absurd, long overdue, or entirely unexpected. As long as there’s a shift — and a story worth telling — it belongs here.

What Aeon is really after are stories that surprise. Maybe the circumstances are unusual. Maybe the insight hits hard. Either way, they want pieces that linger — essays that carry a sense of mystery, possibility, and revelation.

The rate is $550 per piece. While it’s not a king’s ransom, every accepted story is developed with time, care, and attention — no conveyor belt edits here. You’ll work with an editor who’s genuinely invested in making your piece shine.
