🎧 Got something to say about sound?
LOOM is a bold, new interdisciplinary lit mag that’s all about pushing creative boundaries. For their debut issue Quaver, they’re calling for stories, essays, poems, and comics that engage with music — thematically, formally, or in wild, experimental ways.
Think deep dives into underrated artists, hybrid pieces that blend music with text, ekphrastic poetry inspired by a song, or even weird music-industry fanfiction (yes, literary fanfic is welcome). If it resonates with rhythm, LOOM wants to see it.
This issue will first be printed (in gorgeous duotone!) and later published online — so they’re looking for pieces that read beautifully both on the page and beyond it. Digital elements are welcome, but make sure your piece stands on its own in print.
📝 What They Want
- Fiction + essays: 1500–3000 words
- Poetry and comics: flexible
- Unpublished work only
- Max 3 pieces or pitches per person
- Experimental and cross-media pieces are encouraged
🎯 How to Pitch
Submissions are open via webform only. You can send a pitch, a full draft, or something in between. Just make sure your work fits the theme Quaver and has a clear connection to sound or music.
