What They’re Looking For:
Courtside Tennis — a fast-growing YouTube channel known for its innovative tennis content — is hiring freelance scriptwriters who can shape powerful video narratives. Think challenge videos, training documentaries, behind-the-scenes tours, and story-driven episodes that push the boundaries of what tennis content can be.
You’ll work project-by-project, developing ideas into engaging scripts, and collaborating with their lead producer and editor to create compelling, well-paced YouTube content. This is not your typical scriptwriting gig — it’s for tennis fans who think like filmmakers.
Your Tasks Will Include:
- Shaping early video ideas into structured narratives
- Watching raw footage and writing editor-ready scripts (including voiceovers, tone, beats, and transitions)
- Adding detailed editing notes (e.g., what shots go where, what to trim, and pacing)
- Brainstorming video ideas, skits, and challenge formats
- Maintaining a consistent voice, tone, and pacing across the channel
Who They Want:
- You’ve written YouTube scripts before — preferably for documentary or IRL content
- You know how to pace a video for YouTube and keep viewers engaged
- You’re either a tennis fan or deeply familiar with the sport and its culture
- You’re a real writer — not relying on AI to slap together a generic script
- You know what makes a good story… and how to make people care about it
Bonus If:
- You’ve worked on other sports content, especially tennis
- You’ve helped plan IRL video shoots (filming lists, interview questions, etc.)
- You’re already familiar with the Courtside Tennis channel or similar channels like Yes Theory, Jomboy Media, or Tifo
How To Get This Client:
Impress them by sending real writing samples — especially scripts written for YouTube or sports content. If you’ve done storytelling that includes voiceover, scenes, or editing notes, even better. Show your understanding of how to structure compelling videos. And if you’re a tennis lover, say so. That gives you an edge.
