What They’re Looking For:
National Geographic Kids is calling on talented freelance writers and sub-editors with experience in the children’s magazine category to join their pool of contributors. You’ll work on Nat Geo Kids (ages 7–12) and/or Nat Geo Little Kids (ages 3–6) for the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand markets. Writers can, however, come from anywhere in the world.

Writers should be skilled at creating engaging, fact-based, and educational stories that spark curiosity and imagination in young readers. Work may include feature stories, educational pieces, quizzes, or profiles of fascinating animals, cultures, and environmental topics.

Confidential Note: Reports suggest that National Geographic Kids pays up to $1+ per word, but writers are advised to confirm rates directly with the editor.
