Writers Space Africa (WSA) Magazine is accepting submissions from African writers for its 118th Edition, scheduled for release on 1 October 2026. This edition is centred on the theme “Uganda” and welcomes original literary works across multiple genres.

If you’re an emerging or established African writer, this is an opportunity to have your work featured in one of Africa’s respected literary magazines while retaining full copyright of your published work.

Submissions should align with the edition’s theme while demonstrating originality, creativity, and strong storytelling.

Categories and Word Limits

WSA Magazine is accepting submissions in the following categories:

• Creative Non-Fiction: Up to 1,200 words
• Children’s Literature: Up to 700 words (illustrations may be attached; poems must not exceed 24 lines)
• Flash Fiction: Up to 300 words
• Poetry: One poem with a maximum of 24 lines
• Short Stories: Up to 1,500 words

Submission Guidelines

Before submitting your work, ensure you follow these requirements:

• Submit your work to one category only.
• Carefully edit and proofread your manuscript before submission.
• Include both the title of your work and the submission category.
• The submission window is open from 20 July 2026 to 19 August 2026.
• All writers will be contacted by September 2026, regardless of whether their submission is accepted.
• Selected works will be published on the WSA website after the magazine’s official release.
• Authors retain the copyright to their work.

The 118th Edition of WSA Magazine will be published on 1 October 2026.
