HuffPost is accepting pitches from freelance writers across a broad range of editorial sections.
As part of its editorial mission, HuffPost actively seeks stories from writers with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, including voices that have traditionally been underrepresented in mainstream media. The publication welcomes original reporting, first-person essays, service journalism, cultural analysis, investigations, interviews, and expert-driven features.
What HuffPost Wants
Every pitch should include:
- A strong working headline.
- Two to three paragraphs explaining why the story matters.
- Details on how you’ll report the story, including potential sources, interviews, key characters, or narrative structure.
- A short bio explaining why you’re the right person to write the piece.
- An indication of whether the story is timely or newsworthy.
HuffPost notes that due to the high volume of submissions, it cannot respond to every pitch individually.
Important: HuffPost does not accept freelance pitches from PR agencies or representatives. Pitches must come directly from the writer.
